WANT | TAKE | HAVE

Ola! I have journeyed into far off lands and am back only to leave again tomorrow. I wish life was this adventurous all the time! And while all this packing and slinging and heading out is taking place, i'm itching for some change...Something that properly defines the new me.  Rain boots/gum boots (or whatever you may call them) are high priority on my agenda, not for change but more for safety reasons. You see... i have a fear of slipping on wet surfaces and falling flat on my butt, never to wake up again. *Shudder* This haircut is inspiring me (or teasing me!) to go head and cut it all off! Those long locks of love that have been with me for a while now and have grown considerably, are being eyed with a mischievous agenda now. Who knows, that when i write the next post...I might have joined the short hair movement as well! And this hat (similar to one that i owned previously for a day... before i lost it) is perfect to finish of the look i'm ...

FRIDAY FAVOURITES!

Hello! I'm on the path to making lots of decisions and taking lots of risks. Its scary and fun at the same time and that usually leaves me in a very inebriated-like state. Here is a round up of this weeks favourites! Enjoy while i take some much needed break and head to a famous(slightly) getaway! Shhhhh FRIDAY FAVOURITE FOOD : Chocolate Nutella Pops!   (Anisha, my friend, are you listening. It says Nutella. Yup!) FRIDAY FAVOURITE TRAVEL DESTINATION : Luxembourg ...Yes it's as lovely and charming as it looks in the pictures. I had the chance of visiting this picturesque place years back, braces in mouth and high wasted jeans in tow. Those days. Sadly the pictures never survived and i am left without a trace of an actual memory of this place. I remember walking in those by-lanes trying to recreate old movie scenes. FRIDAY FAVOURITE STYLE: Long skirts! FRIDAY FAVOURITE VIDEO: - Have a nice weekend!!!

IT RAINS IN MY HEAD

Petrichor. The scent of rain on dry earth. That familiar smell of roasted corn and wet leaves . I can smell the rains before they come. Which is why even in the midst of summer, walking past freshly watered grass makes me pine for the days of the rains. The soft soothing sound that resembles a soft lullaby eases out any and all worries I have and for a moment I just sit in bed listening to clouds fall apart.  Standing on Marine Drive, the waters growling for attention, the wind threatening to take you away and the rain hitting all parts of your body like the phrase 'pins and needles'. That feeling is inexplicable. Drenched from head to toe, water in your eyes, your mouth, your shoes, your wallet, and the promise of hot chocolate and rum that waits at home. This is the rains for me this year.   (Thanks to Arzan for this gorgeous snap. I can't stop comparing it to a painting!) A friend of mine just hates rains, can'...

CRUSHING ON: EDIBLE INSPIRATION (Kindda!)

Monsoon is hitting Mumbai in full swing and while it brings with it lots of fresh greens and blues, it takes away a bit of colour that spring or summer has to offer. So to inspire myself (and others out there!) i whipped up this quick colour inspiration thingamajig to keep the brightness going strong. Do you notice a pattern of food and drinks? My favorite things to photograph so far! (after which they rest safely in my stomach.) All images by Under the Indian Sky What's your favorite colour chart? And how do you guys beat the monsoon dull-ness? See you soon!

FEELINGS OF BLISS: ALIBAUG

I sat cross-legged in the middle of the sea (or tried to * ahem * short legs *ahem*) and looked around the empty beach we had found ourselves on, treading through muddy waters, the sand tricking you like a naughty boy. Every second a new wave washed over me leaving behind an unexplainable feeling of relaxation. Had it been hours or just minutes, I couldn't quite tell by the disappearing shore line. And I in a very 'epiphany-esq' moment realised that the rush of excitement, of getting over your fears and finally doing something you've only heard other people do, is a dizzy and brain fuzzing high in itself... It was quite a 'spur-of-the-moment' thing that we decided to head over to Alibaug. It was but natural that I walk ten minutes from my house, catch the morning ferry, miss the free bus (seriously, who knew there was a free bus!), hang from a tum tum, get yelled at by the ticket guy, hang from another tum tum and then another auto to r...

CRUSHING ON: FAIRY LIGHTS

The soft mood, the slight swaying glow and the dreamy aura of fairy lights have made them my current obsession recently. For those of you who know me, know that wherever I go, Christmas follows. Every house that I shifted to, every room I have stayed in has always had a string of lights adorning the wall. Its a tradition I started as a kid at home and take it with me everywhere, perhaps as a sign of holding on to memories from home. With my laptop in hand, food stashed away in the crevices of my bed and a night of online surfing to look forward to, these are the best companions ever! So, to convert the non believers here is a image overload to feast your eyes upon. Surprise Surprise if you make it to the end! A DIY awaits you there...     image by Under the Indian Sky
