MAKE IT | Chevron Frame

Okay okay...i admit. I might be a little obsessed with chevron. (Just a little!) But hey! What's not to love? And when i got my hands on this silver boring old frame, what's to stop me from taking some spray paint and some tape and well going crazy! Chevron crazy! I'm terribly sorry that i don't have step by step pictures for this. I had my hands full of tape and paint and well...That doesn't make for pretty pictures! YOU NEED: A frame (Mine was silver to begin with) Tape Spray Paint in your choice of colour - Start by taping of areas on your frame where you don't want the paint to stick. I created a chevron pattern with small bits of tape. It is a tedious process to line the tape exactly but it's worth the effort.  You can do straight lines, checks or any design you fancy. - Lay out newspapers on the floor to avoid spillage from the paint. - Put your frame flat on the floor and spray once making sure you get a nice ev...

THE SPOILS OF A LONG WEEKEND : Matheran

The long weekend surely spoils you. Makes you laze around a bit more, makes you forget about the Monday morning blues and makes you want to get away from the city even if it is for a mere 24 hours. Following a conversation with two friends over an evening movie we decided to add a little spontaneity to life by heading off to the closest hills next morning. The conversation that materialised into action at precisely 1 in the night, saw us ready (albeit slightly groggy) and waiting at the station for the first 4:40 train to Karjat. We were headed to Matheran! Covered in clouds till as far as you can see and the temperature teasing you to stop for chai and biscuit – The journey was as good as the destination itself! We got off at Neral, ate vada pavs for breakfast and caught a fixed price cab from just outside...Our eyes fixed at the window taking in the breathtaking scenery around us! A 20-30 minute walk later up to Matheran town, a walk that led through railway tracks a...

DESIGN DIARIES | I am the highway

(Design by UnderTheIndianSky. Copyrighted!) I am not your rolling wheels, I am the highway I am not your carpet ride, I am the sky Friends and liars don't wait for me, 'Cause I'll get on all by myself. I put millions of miles under my heels; And still too close to you, I feel, yeah. ('I am the highway' by Audioslave) ------- Its funny how things change at the drop of a hat and the days where you felt everything was wrong, are just a distant memory. Things are definitely looking up and I am humming to the tunes of a hundred songs! Another close friend suggested I try my hand at this quote and being quite pleased with the result (if I say so myself), have decided to put it up for all you awesome people to see! Those hours spent in office scribbling away on scrap pieces of paper instead of finishing actual articles seem quite productive now don't you think? I'm trying my hand at many more such things and my...

MY AFFAIR WITH COORG!

The quiet remains untouched mostly, disturbed occasionally by the chirp of birds and bees and by the soft flowing water. My journey through Coorg was rocky and long sure, but was also the same amount of calming and breathtaking. Touchdown at the Bangalore airport, get into your car and drive past 8 hours of scenic beauty to reach the hilly expanse of Coorg. Just make sure your urge to pee is more patient than mine! We stopped over at this quaint little south Indian food joint for breakfast, the name of which completely escapes my mind! Kamat I guess? They had the best idlis I’ve ever tasted, rolled cylindrically in a leaf. They also have this touristy shop just outside where you get everything from earrings to bags to spiders-crawling-out-of-shells.   Hills, trees, and beautiful greens is what I would say Coorg was to me. The rains made everything more vibrant and pleasant and as you climb higher and higher...The breeze becomes cooler and the smells beco...

TAKE IT OUTSIDE!

The transition between summers and winters is that beautiful phase where you can get away with warm jackets as well as short dresses. This backyard party featured on StyleMePretty has me drooling to throw something like this! The perfect weather, the best backyard, fairy lights and some welcoming guests and you're in heaven. Feasting on finger foods, popcorn and grilled cheese while being wrapped up in warm afghans is the perfect way to usher the season in! Isn't this beautiful!     Credits: StyleMePretty
