MAKE IT | PHOTO JOURNAL

Heya! Are you all looking forward to the festival of lights and bursting eardrums as much as i am? Isn't it wonderful how the weather changes just slightly and brings with it that lovely smell of winter! Which also means that i should stop procrastinating and get on with the hundreds of DIY's i have shoved under the mat…No more blaming yucky weathers. Here is one to start things off. Let's just say that once upon a time i had an ugly looking dairy that i used to jot everything down in. I carried it everywhere…albeit hidden. So i decided that i would swoop in and save the day by giving it a makeover! And what best to jazz up a journal with than a handful of keepsake pictures! YOU NEED: A blank, filled, old or ratty journal A printed collage of pictures (measure the front of your journal and add 1/2 an inch to the length and width for safety)   Scissors Glue Embellishments (like raised letters etc.) - In Photoshop or any other pictur...

A SERIOUS CASE OF WANDERLUST!

The anxious plane rides, the camera strapped to my side, and the sore over-walked legs, all remind me of the love i store in my heart for traveling. The more i travel, the more i love it! I'm in my bed right now, getting over serious travel withdrawal symptoms as i reminisce over the 10 days i spent in Thailand two week ago. That was where i had disappeared to, and i wish to disappear again soon! Sigh. I see a lot of posts and articles over why people should travel young. Or where you should be traveling to. But i reckon travel is for everyone, young and old. The very idea of packing your bags and heading to a completely unknown destination is a euphoric high in itself! The destination could be in another continent or just a few hundred kilometers away. Every corner has something just vying to get your attention. I had the most amazing time these past 10 days, navigating by-lanes and gawking at a culture so amazing yet different. It reminded me of why ...

STYLED | THE WANDERER

My lovely sister very graciously agreed to step into the role of the model for this styled series. A flow-y jumpsuit, simple accessories coupled with a statement belt and you're all ready to rock the dreamy yet bold vibe! You could always substitute a long dress for the jumper... Jumpsuit and Belt:  Fifth Avenue, GK1, Delhi  | Ring: Forever 21, Delhi (For as long as i can remember i'd be the one behind the camera, running behind her trying to get her to agree to pose for me. Things are pretty much the same right now!) photos by: mana vidyalankar model and styling:  sanaa vidyalankar more style posts: right here

A LEMON LOVE STORY... (new series perhaps?)

The sweet wafting smell of eggs cooking and the very apparent smell of toast burning, is how i wished i started all my days! I love breakfasts, as i might have mentioned this some 120394 times before, and i would give anything to wake up an hour early to enjoy it. What most people don't know is that i also have a sweet spot for all drinks tangy and sweet! And i'm sort of developing an addiction to pairing a drink with my food. Blame it on wanting to chug down weird looking food when living alone. (weird looking food made by me of course!)  I debated on starting a new series called simply breakfasts, where i photograph two of my favourite things - breakfasts and morning light. Alas, i haven't had much luck with dragging myself out of bed early so i ended up photographing the next best thing instead! Lemon juice! Homemade mum-made lemon juice, that sits and chills in the fridge every morning and gets devoured on at lunch. Sigh. So the debate on this new series i...

THE SMELL OF EARLY MORNINGS....

I used to be an early riser. Walking up just moments before my alarm clocked chimed and getting ready and out while the sky was still waking up. I have become a night owl lately. And that transition hasn't left me with many good things. Late nights mean late mornings and you never seem to be fully awake. And dark circles permanently etch themselves under your eyes… I'm trying to transition back but truth be told, it hasn't been easy. The few days i have i realise it's definitely better for my mood and productivity. And here are a few things i like about early mornings… 1. The open roads. Mornings see a completely different side of the chaotic city you stay in. Misty, empty and just waking up…There is something calming about watching the sun rise. 2. Breakfast. I love breakfasts and getting up early means enjoying a hot cup of coffee with toast and eggs. Maybe read a book or two… 3. Nights. You end up tired at nights and crash hard. And the sleep you have?...
