WILD AND FREE

Each day is too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the places I want to see. A friend recommended that I illustrate this quote for her and that's what I did. This quote found its way to me at a time when I am dreaming about hundreds of trips, to the farthest of places. I'm too safe, and I needed to loosen up, become wild and free and go online and book some tickets! Then it's only a matter of time when good finds me. I've also made this poster available as a high resolution download for anyone who wants to hang out with the same quote. He's quite the catch you know. :: click to download the ALL GOOD THINGS ARE WILD AND FREE poster Happy weekend everyone!

TEN THINGS | guilty pleasures

I'm a list maker. I'll be scribbling away on random pieces of paper, sometimes even  making lists about how to make said lists! So I thought why not make a top ten list that I try to keep up with every week. Let's kick off the first one by jotting down my ten guilty pleasures. Stuff that gives me a goofy feeling in the stomach – and yes, i've realised most of my guilty pleasures are food. But hey! Food is the way to bliss right? Or something like that... So here are ten simple guilty pleasures of mine. They’re not big, but they fill up my heart. I would love to read some of yours! 1. eating massive amounts of chocolate ice cream (amore or gelato!) 2. gossip 3. marathons of sappy romances 4. a bag of cheese nachos and popcorn 5. THUMS UP! (duh) 6. sweet smelling body washes and creams 7. fancy breakfasts 8. watching youtube videos 9. putting the fan on fast and cuddling up 10. taking a day off in the middle of the week! So ...

THE MINDROLLING MONASTERY | via instagram!

It's the roads that charm you at first. Narrow winding pathways running across small houses. The air that smells cleaner and tastes sweeter. As you near this destination, the bells signal you in, always alluring and always mystical.  Dehradun has been my second hometown for as long as I can remember and between me shifting to Mumbai and moving on with life, I realised I hadn't visited for over 2 years now. This time when we went, we visited the Mindrolling Monastery located in quaint little Clement Town. Flanked by lush gardens, the air of peacefulness, and a small souvenir arcade – the monastery stands tall enveloped in a multitude of colour.    Prayer flags line each corner and the inside of the monastery itself is colourful and covered with pictorial representations. We had a nice time, strolling about, coveting each and every item in the tiny shopping stores. Until next time.... Mindrolling Monastery   Clement Town 248002 Dehradun (All image...

STYLED | The birthday edition

Bright and shiny (Not) Monday morning to all of you!  While recording memories and styles, I’m usually the one behind the lens, snapping the shutter away giving directions in my most impatient style. (my sister and friends shall vouch for that!) When the camera is turned on me, I either run away, or delight said photographers with my most retarded and amusing of expressions. Anything to not get clicked! But on my birthday I was quite happy to be in front of the camera, a feat I never thought was possible. It's a little awkward and a whole lot of randomness...But here's me showing off my new hairstyle and the birthday styled look! Hope you guys like it! I will try and strike a more fashion-ista pose next time. LEAVING HOME AND COMING HOME

The sounds of taxis calling out to you. The constant nudging of people rushing to work. The mysterious woman that announces the train destinations every second of every day. That's the city i'm coming from. Or leaving. I'm flying down to Delhi today. (or have flown and reached by the time i get to put this post up!). Going from the city that has been my home for the last 2 years to the city that has been my home since i can remember, has been surreal. I have loved Mumbai with my whole heart, one it stole 2 years ago, when i trotted the taxi ridden paths trying to grasp the ins and outs of the fastest city in India. Every time someone mentioned Bombay, I'd feel this innate sense of pride at the idea of it being my home. I felt like i belonged. I felt like nothing is impossible here. Every time I'd return from a trip away, the taxi ride back from the airport would overwhelm me and give me the sense of coming home. I'd stare at the So...

FRIDAY FAVOURITES | pinning happiness

I want my life to look like Pinterest boards. Always. Every moment. I thought I’d switch the style for Friday favourites today and show you things I am coveting and pinning! I wish I could hop onto the dreamy boards I’ve made, in a Harry Potter-eque manner (swish and flick!). I'm also going home for a mini vacation! And that's what the colour and happiness is about! Anyway, more about that later..Here are a few of my recent pins. What are you pinning right now? And do your Pinterest boards reflect your mood? During winters I realise I pin a lot of warm colours, wooly style and knitted inspirations! FLORAL DRESSES   |  VENICE  | BIKE   | POPSICLES

HANDS ON... | PRINTED SCARF

It's fun to get your hands dirty, screw up a little, spill paint everywhere (even on your favourite shirt!), realise you've designed the wrong side, and then proudly wear your creation in the open! Do-It-Yourselves are fun and make for a great pastime. It all started when i realised that I desperately needed a scarf. As if my own 'gigantic scarf bag', as someone calls it (you know who you are!), wasn't full enough I wanted to add another to the pile! And I wanted to make my own. A bit of cloth and a bit of paint and voilà! You need:  Fabric Paint Blank Scarf/Cloth Paint brush Cardboard/Thermacol Newspapers • Before you begin painting, make sure you've covered the entire surface with newspapers. You wouldn't want anything to spill anywhere! • Cut out your desired shape from the cardboard or thermacol. I cut out triangles to make a triangl-y (?) chevron pattern. Empty out your paint in a shallow dish an...

MONDAY PEARLS OF WISDOM # 01

Good Monday to you! Just a little quirky quote i came across... Surely Monday needs some inspiration to act cooler! Are you listening oh-lazy-day?? (art by Under the Indian Sky)

A NEW START

Hello there you lovely people! How's it going? To start things off, I apologise for my absence, with promises of cupcakes for all of you! To say July has been not-so-great would be an understatement. It was one month that I was very happy to say goodbye to. It was intense, there were a lot of changes and a lot of growing pains that I’m still getting used to. I had to bid goodbye to a good friend/co-worker of mine. Those who know me know that I’m pathetic when it comes to saying byes. I'm the one that awkwardly pats on the back and then turns around and forgets about the situation. There were changes, new ideas I had to get used to. My blogging and writing and photographing inspiration had managed to play hide and seek with me. It hurt seeing the lists of posts I wanted to do, without one check next to it. I felt under-confident and all the other pessimistic emotions one can round up. I was tired. To say the least. It was as if hope had picked me...
