HAVE A SINISTER HALLOWEEN!

To celebrate the spirit of all things scary, black and skull-y, I thought I'd share two quick halloween ideas. And yes, that is an actual skull with popcorn in it. Pretty nifty right! (If you get past the whole this-thing-was-once-covered-with-blood-and-gore concept) TIP #01. You need: Empty bottles Orange soda Printer Ask your local grocer for empty bottles and clean them out like a champ. Wrap theme apt labels around the base of the bottle and fill those empty bad boys up with some orange soda. There you go! You have your very own orange potion drink thingy. You can experiment with multiple colours and label options. We went with things like 'Boo' and 'Drink me if you dare'. You could also label them with names of made-up potions. Like amazeballingitus...(that sounds like a disease although, so maybe not that one) Alternatively you could also wrap similar labels around individual straws. Sip me if you dare! TIP #02. You ...

IN THE KITCHEN | LEMON DRIZZLE CAKE

Like bees on a honey pot. That's the best way to describe the reaction to this lemon-drizzled sweetness. As soon as this cake was cooled and brought to the table, it vanished within seconds into happy, chattering mouths. I have been holding out on this recipe for a while now. It's one of those moments that I'd like to keep to myself for as long as I can. The way I always wanted Harry Potter to be just my discovery. But I caved in and decided that happy discoveries need to be shared with everyone. The recipe is effortlessly simple and absolutely ancient. You start with a basic sponge and then drizzle it in lemon haven. LEMON DRIZZLE CAKE You need 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup castor sugar  2 eggs 1/2 cup flour 1 tsp baking powder  2 tbs milk For the drizzle Juice of 1 lemon Icing sugar  Method Preheat the oven to about 180ºC.  Beat together the butter and the sugar until pale and creamy. Add all the eggs, one at a time, slowly m...

LOVING A NEW CITY #03

DISTRACT YOURSELF You know that feeling of ache in your throat right before a breakdown? The feeling of homesickness creeping up silently as you get ready for bed in your new flat. That's practically how I spent my first week in my new existence. My plan? To avoid having any free time at first. I took a weird amount of time and fascination planning my days so that I'd be super busy till the wee hours of the morning. I ate breakfast and lunch in college and sometimes dinner too. Sometimes I'd spend an ungodly amount of time fixating on college projects and sometimes I'd just walk around the neighborhood, getting familiar with the roads. I knew if i went home on time, I'd retreat to my bed and binge watch hours and hours of shows. That might work for a lot of people, but for me, it just made me miss home more. So till I was absolutely sure I could trust myself to be alone, I spent every waking moment occupying myself in whatever activity I could throw myself i...

PRE-WEDDING AND WEDDING | ANKITA + MOHIT

Getting up early in the morning and chasing the sun around Delhi monuments is the perfect way to spend a day with the cutest of couples. This pre-wedding shoot would always be one that I would remember forever. Insane amount of laughter and silly jokes later, we finally had a set of pictures that truly reflected Ankita and Mohit. The wedding on the other hand, was a simple family affair that spoke volumes about generous hospitality and traditions. And a beautiful bride was just the icing on top.  Thank you for letting me be a part of your memorable day!

IN THE KITCHEN | THE APPLE PIE SMOOTHIE

A few months ago, I decided that I'd roll out of bed early and make myself a proper nutritious breakfast. When your life is as hectic as mine (read: late night Game of Thrones marathons), healthy meals can be tough to swing. Enter the fruit smoothie. This cool and creamy sip is packed with the benefits of fresh cut fruits and power packed flax seeds (high in finer and Omega-3 fatty acids). The lack of added sugar is as awesome as the proverbial icing. From mangoes and pineapples to pomegranate seeds and apples--you can pop in any fruit that you find around your house. It's as simple as throwing all the ingredients in and giving it a whirl. Do add a handful of ice to make the smoothie nice and cold. The apple pie smoothie is a delectable combination of green apples and banana. I left the skin on the apple for extra added fibre. This smoothie makes exactly one glass. Perfect for not sharing and gulping it down on your own!

WRITE THIS DOWN | DON'T QUIT

Quitting and daydreams. The perfect topic to cover-up my absence. Who knew quitting can be so liberating. Those who say never quit, clearly haven't walked out on something that doesn't work. Sometimes, its okay to just get up and leave. Daydreams on the other hand — memories, ideas, creative sparks — are specks in time when we get lost and when our imagination runs wild. Some of my most creative ideas have floated in through this form of thought. All my future endeavours live in these daydreams. Dreams that shouldn't be replaced once you snap back into reality. Dreams that you need to grab and make real. My head is a mix of all these emotions currently — from my internal struggle with quitting to harbouring those beautiful daydreams. There is so much happening currently and I am just trying to take it all in. What your life quote currently?
