MUSINGS

Hello!! I know I've been missing on the blog front for quite a while now, but there are tons of personal problems I'm dealing with. I'm  patiently waiting (or trying to) for these knots to untie themselves and for life to be easier...And i can resume to full time blogging. There might be some fancy news in store, which i am trying not to get too excited about. So stay tuned!   Have a nice day!

SNEEK PEEK: JAMJAR DINER, MUMBAI

I'm grooving to a famous Beatles song, the smell of freshly made waffles teasing me endlessly. Hop, skip and jump to the Jukebox and a new melody replaces the old one. It feels like nothing can go wrong at JamJar Diner. The first time I ever went there, I went as a journalist for my magazine. Standing outside, looking around at the very familiar road I used to come everyday to for my internship, I almost blink and miss this beauty. Well not really, since its bright blue exterior mystically beckons you to step in! And since then, every single person I’ve met knows the tales of the small place with the madhouse interiors. Say hello to topsy-turvy shelves, stained glass booths, old school curtains and the fascinating oddities thrown into the mix. As you step into Jamjar Diner, you almost expect your grandmother to come sauntering out from the kitchen, a plate of freshly cooked food in her hands.    Craving for hearty breakfasts on Su...

FRIDAY FAVOURITES!

It's Friday! Ola people! How have you all been! I'm running on a sugar high at the moment, having consumed a ton of sugar, so the world seems happier and sweeter. Which it is, considering it's the weekend and that's when i meet and catch up with all friends and others! I realised this blog for me is like family, one that i retreat to when i feel extremely lonely and isolated. ( A feeling ever present in this city!) That's my reason for blogging. What's yours? Here are my favourite things from the past week! FAVOURITE INDULGENCE: Dark Chocolate Tar t! It's only fair that i'm eating a chocolate cheesecake while typing this! Any one who loves me enough care to make this for a sweet, ever appreciating friend? Anyone? Hello? FAVOURITE STYLE: Statement style! A little bit of bohemian, a hint of chic and a whole lot of casual! That blue patterned top is beautiful and i am dying to start a collection of mismatched accessories!  FAVOURI...

SNEEK PEEK: ONICO HAIR AND NAIL SPA

Picture this. You walk into the nearest salon, all geared up to give your nails and hair a facelift and somehow end up in a very delectable looking forest. Wait what?  The Onico hair and nail spa designed by Japanese architect Ryo Isobe is a forest-like beauty salon in Osaka, complete with birch trees and a stuffed owl! The lights, the trees, the wood finishing as well as the curios that make up this sp a, make me wish i had a home identical to this. Living here would be like going on a treasure hunt in a birch forest! A mixture of lanterns, chandeliers and bare light bulbs are suspended from the ceiling, while fairy lights are strung up beside a cluster of artificial ivy in the room behind. I love designs that flow seamlessly from one area to another. What i also love is that be it a nail spa, a restaurant, or even the decor of a home -- this style can be adapted anywhere!  (All pictures belong to Onico/Ryo Isobe )

SHY OF STREETS

Introvert. Socially awkward. Shy. There are lots of words that people have used to describe the person I am. And I stand in unison with thousands of other people that agree that this isn't a problem, its just a personality trait that others have to accept. What I didn't expect was this to stand in the way of my new found love of blogging and photographing. And that's when I found myself standing, camera in hand, in the middle of the street, pretending to look normal and busy. Normal. All I wanted was to go ahead and take a picture of that very colourful and striking display, but a part of me wanted to run away back in the covers of my bed. Next shop maybe...I told myself and walked ahead. The idea of stopping, framing a shot and clicking also meant calling attention to myself and having the eyes of hundred other people upon me. Something that made me uncomfortable. I've started a series with a friend. Maybe this blog post ...
