I love the idea of moving to a new city, of starting over and leaving your past way behind. You try to make new memories while learning to love the people and places along the way. Café owners are remembered by name and housewarmings are just an excuse to get people together.
I’ve been in Delhi for all my life, except for the 2 great years I spent in Mumbai. That made me realise the need to start with a clean slate. No one knew me there and I could be anyone I wanted to be! I’m back now and as much as I hated this city from the start, I will have to start getting used to living here. It’s easy to love a fable city like Paris, but completely the opposite when it’s a city like Delhi. Familiarising myself with the touch of the city is the way ahead I suppose.
So, I will try and document my learning along the way for any of you trying to fall in love with a new place you’ve landed into. I hope I be of help for any of you.
So here’s introducing: Loving a new city – a series.
